“WE HAVE THE CHANCE TO BE ROLE MODELS FOR OTHER GAY FOLKS WHO WANTED TO PLAY SPORTS, BUT NEVER FELT GOOD ENOUGH OR STRONG ENOUGH. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE HAVE THE CHANCE TO SHOW THE OTHER TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE THAT WE ARE AS GOOD AS THEY ARE. GOOD RUGBY PLAYERS. GOOD PARTIERS. GOOD SPORTS. GOOD MEN.”

One of the Phoenix Storm traditions is to cater and serve a Thanksgiving-esque dinner to the youth, staff, volunteers, and supporters of the 1n10 family. 1n10 is an outstanding organization which offers social programs and support to the youth and young adults in the local LGBTQ community of Phoenix.
This is just one of the many ways we like to say 'Thank You' to our community, by giving our time and energy to supporting a great cause and letting our LGBTQ/inclusive brothers and sisters know that the Storm is always with them!

Aside from playing rugby and socializing, the Phoenix Storm often gives back to the LGBT community through the noble act of volunteering. At Rainbow's Festival 2016, many Storm players and supporters showed up Saturday to help set up the festival and sell tickets, while nearly the entire team showed up Sunday evening to help strike it down. Veterans and rookies alike came together as a team to serve a great cause and did some bonding in the process. ... See MoreSee Less

Boot Camp was a great success; thank you to everyone who attended! We are proud to say that we begin this pre-season with a larger team than in many years past. We had our fun this summer welcoming new recruits, hanging at our sponsor bar Stacy's, and further establishing our name in the gay community, but now begins the hard work!

Practices have officially started and will be held at Colter Park every Saturday from 9am to 11am! Remember, however, that Saturday's a rugby day and practice may run later depending on punctuality and how quickly we get through the material. Come January, Saturdays will be match days and last all day, so get in the habit of dedicating this day to your team as soon as possible.

Bring water, cleats, rugby shorts, and invest in a mouthguard! Rugby shorts are required for lifting, mouthguards for tackling, and please wear an athletic shirt you don't mind losing in case of tearing. Also, remember to stay hydrated leading up to practice, it is still warm outside and practices are very physically demanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Coach Steve, your captains Marquelus and Ish, or myself (Chris) and we will take the time to address them to make your season a success!

See you on the pitch, brothers!
